My debut novel, The Slowest Burn, will be published on September 24, 2024. It’s an opposites attract foodie romance featuring Kieran, a chaos muppet chef, and Ellie, an order muppet ghostwriter as they work together to write Kieran’s debut cookbook after he wins a reality TV competition. It’s also a book about life after loss and about learning to have faith in yourself and what you want. It’s a love letter to cooking and cookbooks, to my beautiful home in the San Francisco Bay Area, to good music and good food and good people above all.

Content Warning: Ellie is a widow who lives with her in-laws, so there’s a lot of grief and difficult emotions around the death of her husband (which happens years before the book begins). She also grew up with an absent dad and a neglectful mom and lives with the aftereffects. Kieran has ADHD and has a strained relationship with his family, so there are scenes of emotional strife with elements of stigma against neurodiverse people.
